Aviation Psychologist
Accreditation requirements
- Official university degree (Masters) in psychology (European Qualifications Framework (EQF) level 7 or equivalent legally recognised standards)
- EAAP membership held for a minimum of 1 year;
- Three years (with a minimum 3000 of working hours) experience in applying aviation psychology, in one or more specialist areas of aviation (civil or military).
- Continuous professional occupation in the field must be documented.
- Successfully completing two full EAAP training courses on different aviation psychology topics.
Note: A full course is generally 5 days. Please be aware that some recognised courses only count as half a course. EAAP can, in some cases, accept courses at other institutions as equivalent for EAAP training courses (when approved by the EAAP board).
Knowledge of the aviation field must be documented by either:
- Experience as a technical professional (e.g. flight crew, cabin crew, ATC, engineer), or
- Passing a theoretical course examination (e.g. PPL), or
- Demonstrating a expertise in the aviation field by means of position(s) occupied / documented achievements and / or publications / official recommendations.
The final decision lies with the Board.
The registration fee is 136,00 EUR. Registration is valid for 5 years.
Re-qualification
After a period of five years the certified Aviation Psychologist will have to re-qualify. The requirements for re-qualification are:
- Continuous professional occupation in the field must be documented
- At least one recognised EAAP training course or conference attended within the 5 years (in some cases the Board may accept expert accomplishments instead). EAAP may accept other courses as equivalents for EAAP training courses (subject to approval by the EAAP board).
The final decision lies with the Board.
The fee for re-registration is 40,00 EUR.
How to get accredited?
You must be an EAAP member in order to be able to apply for accreditation. The accreditation is only valid for EAAP members.
